It sounds weird, I know. But usually around this time of year, I go and help my aunt at a women's shelter and give out toys to the younger kids, decorate the the dining room with christmas decorations and help serve out food. But since she has new job, I can no longer go there...
But an opportunity has arrived!!
My school has been having a donation of money for this toy drive toy drive and teddy bear drive for the past two weeks. I'm participating in the teddy bear drive (thanks to my younger sisters and a bunch of their gently used stuffed animals), and I'm now going to help to donate money for the toy drive.
The goal for it was $1800 on friday and we were $600 short of it that day too. The cool thing was that by the end of 6th period we were $400 short! During my lunch hour, one of the teachers were going around asking to donate. When she came to my group of friends, she was bragging (in a good way) about how a student gave a $50 for the toy drive and how she's going to participate in volunteering to give out the toys to kids.
That got my attention...
I asked how I could help out with the volunteering and stuff. The teacher said I could either donate a large amount of money or sign up. (of course, I'm going to do both)
Well, yesterday I counted up my jar of coins that I had stashed away in my closet and came up with $38.91! (It was a large jar that I had for a few years. XD )


Now I'm waiting for tomorrow to come some I can give the money and sign up to volunteer.
